As a transformational/motivation coach, I’m not the sage on the stage, I’m the guide by your side and, in that capacity, I have some wisdom to impart, not my wisdom, Aubrey Padmore’s wisdom:

“The only person alive on this planet that can stop you from succeeding is you”.

So many of us need to get away from the feeling that we are a victim of circumstance, that “it’s not fair!”, that “well, it’s alright for him/her but poor me, I can’t….”.

Yes, we are all subject to the vagaries of life, nothing we can do about them, but we can control our attitudes – as Victor Frankl said:

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

If you’re stuck in a rut, and we are all tolerating things, ask yourself:

“What is it costing me to tolerate this?”

“What is the benefit of putting up with this?”

“Why am I really doing this?”

“How is having this toleration serving me?”

“How would I be served if I didn’t have this toleration?”

“Who will I have to become to stop tolerating this?”

“Who can help me stop putting up with this?”

Think about it…

“In order to become empowered, to become the co-creator in our lives, and to stop giving power to the belief that we are the victim, it is absolutely necessary to own that we have choices.”
– Robert Burney
